Two meters of black to give a buffet structure

On a 2 m table, a classic tablecloth takes work: the fabric slides, wrinkles pile up, and everything needs fixing before guests arrive. Here, each corner fits over a leg and the spandex stretches along the full length. The tabletop becomes a continuous black line, and the sides form wide arches between the legs. Set end to end, several dressed tables create an even buffet line, as in our photo. For catering service, solid black acts as a backdrop: it keeps the food and light-colored tableware in the foreground.

Cocktails, lunches, coffee breaks: putting the cover to work
