Short wool pile and a Greek key border

This model features a geometric oriental design: two rectangular frames side by side, a row of diamonds around the edge and a border of small squares decorated with Greek key motifs. Red dominates, set off by black, brown, ochre gold and a few touches of gray-green. The machine-woven wool forms a short, dense pile, and the edge is bound all the way around. At 8.5 mm total thickness, the rug stays low: a service cart or a clothing rack rolls over it more easily than over a thick rug, and the step up from the floor stays small.
